“Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.”
(1 Timothy 4:12)
Mission Statement:
Filipino Christian Church Youth Ministry focuses on the development, reinforcement, and sustainability of personal relationships with God. We use collegiate level literature and techniques to challenge the youth’s norm. We encourage our students to be vocal, vulnerable, and thought-provoking. We construct a learning environment that demands participation, permits honesty and open discussion. Filipino Christian Church Youth Ministry empowers the teens of today and positions them as Christian leaders of tomorrow.
Lesson Plan:
“Love Does” By Bob Goff + Study Guide Questions (weekly)
- The youth engage in discussion regarding the book “Love Does” by Bob Goff. He is a Christian author sharing his walk with God during his youth. This book covers themes of difficulties youth struggle within the context of a Christian faith.
Life Stories (only during overnights)
- One student is given an hour to tell their “life story”. This consists of anything worth noting about that individual. The entire hour must be used.
Prayer Partners (weekly)
- Students will pair up and vocally pray for one another at the end of every class. Partners change weekly, encouraging the opportunity to engage with unfamiliar classmates.
FCC Youth Blog (weekly)
- One student will be assigned to post a blog or vlog, answering a question given in class. Postings must be 1 paragraph or 3 min minimum. Students not assigned that week are welcome to post as well. This blog is not searchable via the internet (google/bing/etc) to secure the privacy of our students.
